Engagements

Start with the truth. Stay while it matters.

Every engagement is scoped to the institution, its size, and the decisions in front of it. Some begin with a full assessment, others with a single instrument that settles one urgent question. Scope and investment are agreed after a first confidential conversation.

Three ways to begin

From an honest baseline to a twelve-month partnership

Assessment & Foundation

3 to 5 weeks

Readiness assessment, AI vision statement, and AI usage policy. Start with the truth and build from there.

  • ATLAS readiness assessment and Readiness Index
  • AI vision statement
  • AI usage policy
  • Executive debrief

Institutions that need an honest baseline before they commit.

Transformation Partnership

12 months

Strategic Advisory plus training, champions, vendor framework, communication kit, and four quarterly reviews with ongoing counsel.

  • Everything in Strategic Advisory
  • Training plan and AI champion program
  • Vendor evaluation framework
  • Communication kit
  • Four quarterly reassessments
  • Ongoing counsel to the executive team

Institutions that want a partner alongside them while the change takes hold.

Focused instruments

Or start smaller

A single, well-chosen piece of work can change a real decision within weeks. Each instrument also stands as a first step into a larger engagement.

  • Pre-engagement briefA 90 minute scoping conversation that sharpens the real question.
  • Decision rights matrixWho decides, who is consulted, and who is accountable for each class of AI decision.
  • AI value chain mapWhere AI creates value in your operations, and which pilots are following fashion.
  • Agent authorization frameworkExplicit governance for autonomous agents, before an incident forces the conversation.
  • 90-day leader practiceA personal AI practice for the executive who will lead the transformation.
How the work unfolds

Five phases, from diagnosis to practice

Engagements draw on the same five phases. The smaller ones stop at the foundation. The partnership carries through to the evolution.

  1. Weeks 1 to 2The DiagnosticInterviews from board to frontline, scored across all eight dimensions. Not a checklist. A mirror.
  2. Weeks 3 to 5The FoundationVision statement, usage policy, and risk assessment. Governance that enables rather than constrains.
  3. Weeks 5 to 8The StrategyA sequenced roadmap, a business case your board can approve, and pilots chosen to succeed.
  4. Weeks 6 to 10The MobilizationTraining, champions, vendor evaluation, and communication. Technology transforms nothing. People do.
  5. Months 3 to 12The EvolutionQuarterly reassessment and ongoing advisory. Transformation is a practice, not a project.
What you can expect

Commitments we hold in every engagement

Independence

We do not sell technology or take referral fees. Recommendations serve your institution only.

Candor

You receive an honest account of where you stand, including the parts that are uncomfortable to read.

Confidentiality

What we learn about your institution stays with your institution. Nothing is cited without agreement.

Fit before revenue

When the fit is not right, we say so, and we decline the work.

Common questions

About engagements

Where should we start?

Most institutions begin with an honest baseline, either the Assessment & Foundation engagement or a focused instrument such as a decision rights matrix. The first conversation is used to find the smallest piece of work that will change a real decision.

Do you publish prices?

No. Every engagement is scoped to the institution, its size, and the decisions in front of it. Scope and investment are agreed after a first confidential conversation, which carries no obligation.

Who does the work?

Engagements are led personally by Gridland’s founder, Gísli Rafn Ólafsson. You work with the person whose experience you are engaging, from the first conversation to the final review.

Can the work be delivered remotely?

Yes. Assessments and advisory work are delivered in person anywhere in the world, remotely, or in a combination of both.

Begin with a confidential conversation.

Not a sales pitch. A conversation about where you are, what is at stake, and what readiness actually requires.
